OMV has been awarded four new licences on the Norwegian Continental Shelf in the APA 2025 licencing round.

The Ministry of Energy has offered OMV Norge AS participation in four new production licences in the 2025 Awards in Predefined Areas (APA). OMV has been assigned operatorship for two of these licences, PL 1302 with a 50% interest and PL 1309 with a 40% interest. The remaining two licences are PL 1177B (30%) and PL 1292 (30%).

“I am very pleased with today’s award from the Ministry. We received all the licences we applied for, which we see as a strong recognition from the Norwegian authorities,” says Jone Hess, General Manager of OMV Norge AS.

In total, 19 companies were offered ownership interests in 57 production licences across the Norwegian Continental Shelf under the APA 2025 round. Of these production licences, 31 are located in the North Sea, 21 in the Norwegian Sea, and five licences in the Barents Sea.

The Awards in Predefined Areas (APA) is an annual licencing round covering the most mature areas of the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
