OMV has been awarded four new licenses on the Norwegian Continental Shelf in the APA 2025 licensing round.

The Ministry of Energy has offered OMV Norge AS participation in four new production licenses in the 2025 Awards in Predefined Areas (APA). OMV has been assigned operatorship for two of these licenses, PL 1302 with a 50% interest and PL 1309 with a 40% interest. The remaining two licenses are PL 1177B (30%) and PL 1292 (30%).

“I am very pleased with today’s award from the Ministry. We received all the licenses we applied for, which we see as a strong recognition from the Norwegian authorities,” says Jone Hess, General Manager of OMV Norge AS.

In total, 19 companies were offered ownership interests in 57 production licenses across the Norwegian Continental Shelf under the APA 2025 round. Of these production licenses, 31 are located in the North Sea, 21 in the Norwegian Sea, and five licenses in the Barents Sea.

The Awards in Predefined Areas (APA) is an annual licensing round covering the most mature areas of the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
