The drilling of Oswig has commenced
The drilling of the Oswig exploration well in production license (PL) 1100 started on Monday August 1.
The rig “Maersk Intrepid” is drilling the well on behalf of the operator OMV (Norge) AS. The “Maersk Intrepid” is an ultra-hash environment jack-up rig for year-around operations.
The Oswig exploration well (30/5-4 S) is located in the central part of the North Sea, east of the Martin Linge field and west of the Oseberg field. The water depth in the area is 95 meters. The duration of the drilling campaign is up to 60 days with a successful discovery.
OMV (Norge) AS is the operator for PL 1100 with 40% working interest. The other license partners, with 20% stake each, are Source Energy AS, Wintershall Dea Norge AS and Longboat Energy Norge AS.
The license was awarded by the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy in APA 2020.
