OMV Awarded Four New Licenses in APA 2022
The Ministry of Petroleum and Energy has offered OMV (Norge) AS ownership in four new production licenses in the Award in Predefined Areas 2022.
OMV is offered operatorship for two of the four production licenses, PL 1100C (40% license extension) and PL 1194 (40%). The two other licenses are PL 1177 with 30% stake and PL 1196 with 30% stake.
“I am very pleased with today’s award by the Ministry. All the awarded licenses are close to existing infrastructure and require less recoverable volumes”, says Managing Director Knut Mauseth in OMV (Norge) AS.
25 companies were offered ownership interests in a total of 47 production licenses in the APA 2022. Of the 47 production licenses, 29 are in the North Sea, 16 in the Norwegian Sea and 2 in the Barents Sea. 20 of the production licenses are additional acreage for existing production licenses.
Awards in predefined areas (APA) is an annual exploration round in the most mature areas on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
